Costs of buying and selling
Before buying a or selling a property, both the buyer and seller should be informed of the related costs of the transaction. On the part of the seller the responsibilities are certifications necessary to pass the title deed and the comission of the real estate agent that arranged the sale. The standard comission declared by the CRECI for urban residencial properties is 6% of the sale price.
The buyer's responsibility is to pay the costs of the cartorio and the registry of the title, plus the ITBI tax. All of these are vary according to the size and value of the property and are calculated by the cartorio at the time the closing is schedruled.
